Sir Alan Gardiner, in his monumental book Egyptian Grammar, cataloged and organized over 900 Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs in tables at the back of the book. The characters were organized with each collection identified by a letter. The characters within each collection were identified by a number appended to their respective collection letters. These characters and their Gardiner codes are presented here.
